Valdosta Technical College has partnered with Park Avenue Bank at the Main Office - North Oak Street Ext. for Consumer loans.  Funding is available for the full tuition cost and additional costs as needed. Students have the option to defer repayment of the loan for up to six months after graduation.

The IRS will allow a "hardship withdrawal" from a 401k account under an "immediate and heavy" financial need.  All other options must have been exhausted before you can make such a withdrawal.  Information can be found at the link abouve or through your financial advisor.

Disable Vets - Chapter 31 VA Vocational Rehab funds

A veteran may be eligible for Chapter 31 benefits if he or she incurred or aggravated a service-connected disability on or after September 16, 1940 *, which entitles him or her to VA disability compensation and who is in need of vocational rehabilitation because his or her disability creates an employment issue. How to Apply:

1. Complete VA Form 28-1900, Disabled Veterans Application for Vocational Rehabilitation.

2. The following supporting evidence and/or documents should be submitted with your claim:

•           Dependency Documents - if not currently on record with the regional VA office, the original or copies birth and marriage certificates and copies of divorce/death record terminating your prior marriages and those of your spouse.
•           Completed form - VA-21-687c for Declaration of Status of Dependents provides dependent information to VA; OU-VA suggests you send it with the above mention dependency documents.  See the section entitiled Dependent Documentation at http://www.gibill.va.gov/education/AACRAO/sec300.htm

Once you are approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs, a VA Form 28-1905 will be mailed to you along with the name of your VA Voc Rehab counselor.
