Providing Controllers For The Next Generation

About Us

aatc transparentAdvanced ATC, Inc. is a privately held company established in the early part of 2008. The company owners are retired Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) ATC managers. Our instructors are retired and active Air Traffic Controllers from the FAA, federal contractors and military. Advanced ATC, Inc. (AATC) conducts the training to meet and exceed all FAA regulations under Part 65 & 67.

In December 2008, Advanced ATC, Inc and Wiregrass Georgia Technical College, (formally known as Valdosta Technical College) formed a partnership to offer ATC training at their Valdosta campus. Advanced ATC, also partnered with the Valdosta/Lowndes County Airport Authority and the City of Valdosta to operate the Valdosta Regional Airport Tower. On April 1, 2009, AATC took possession of the Tower. This allows AATC the opportunity to provide practical experience for our students. On April 29, 2009 AATC accepted our first student and has been enrolling students every month ever since.

AATC is dedicated to producing the most highly qualified Air Traffic Control applicants to the Federal Aviation Administration. Therefore, we conduct our training in an academy style. Students are required to wear a uniform, attend classes for 13 weeks Mon- Fri ; 6-8 hours a day. The following 13 weeks will be spent qualifying in the Valdosta Regional Tower. Students are expected to report to training on time and conduct themselves in a professional manner. Once qualified in the tower, the last 26 weeks are split between advanced tower simulation and the Valdosta Regional Tower (Live Traffic). At the end of the 52 weeks of training an FAA Examiner will be scheduled to conduct a CTO facility rating evaluation. Upon successful evaluation our students will be issued a FAA Control Tower Operator’s (CTO) Certificate, with facility rating. This qualifies a graduate to make application to the FAA under the CTO hiring announcements.

Individuals seeking enrollment will be required to pass a FAA Class II, ATCS medical (physical), back ground security screening, and complete a personal interview.

We recognize each student is a unique individual who deserves the best ATC program available. Our staff adheres to high standards, is dedicated to our mission and to providing everything the student needs to succeed in the field of Air Traffic Control.
